    We want you to book with confidence. That's why we offer flexible, hassle-free cancellation on all our Chichen Itza tours.

    This policy applies to every booking made directly on chichenitzatravel.com. It meets — and in most cases exceeds — the industry standards set by GetYourGuide, Viator, and Expedia. Refunds are processed automatically to your original payment method; you don't need to call to claim your money.

    Free Cancellation

    Cancel up to 24 hours before your tour for a full refund. No questions asked.

    Late Cancellation (< 24 hrs)

    Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are non-refundable. Changes may be possible.

    No-Show

    If you don't show up for your tour without notice, no refund is provided.

    How Cancellations Work

    Standard Tours (Day Tours, Combo Tours)

    Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Full refund credited to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.

    Private & VIP Tours

    Free cancellation up to 48 hours before departure. Due to exclusive arrangements, a 50% fee applies for cancellations within 24–48 hours.

    Multi-Day Tours

    Free cancellation up to 7 days before departure. 50% refund for cancellations 3–7 days prior. Non-refundable within 72 hours.

    Weather & Force Majeure

    Full refund or free reschedule guaranteed

    If we cancel a tour due to severe weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost. Your safety is our priority.

    Refunds: Timelines & Details

    Eligible refunds are initiated within one business day. Visa and Mastercard typically reflect the credit in 5–7 business days; American Express in 3–5; PayPal and Apple Pay in 1–2. Refunds always return to the original payment method — we can't transfer them to a different card for fraud-prevention reasons.

    If you booked an add-on (private guide, photography package, luxury transport) and then cancel the main tour, the add-on is refunded pro-rata. Optional tip add-ons are 100 % refundable up to the moment of departure.

    Date Changes & Rescheduling

    If plans change but you still want to visit Chichen Itza, prefer rescheduling over cancelling — it's free up to 48 hours before departure and preserves your spot on the new date with no need to re-process payment. Just email or WhatsApp us with your reference number and preferred new date.
